As part of the Bengaluru engineering team, you will play a crucial role in building the backbone of next-gen video communication. As an Engineer at RingCentral Events, you will: - Architect and develop real-time media streaming services using WebRTC, RTMP, HLS. - Build scalable backend services in Node.js and media components in C++. - Gain expertise in audio/video codecs like H.264, VP8/VP9, AV1, Opus, AAC. - Deploy and scale services in AWS, GCP, or Azure utilizing Terraform and Kubernetes. - Enhance media quality, latency, and reliability for global virtual events. - Collaborate with global engineering teams focusing on DevOps, front-end, and QA. - Monitor live QoS/QoE metrics and contribute to system design and incident response. Qualifications: - 7+ years of experience in building real-time media or video streaming infrastructure. - Proficiency in Node.js, C++, and multithreaded systems. - Deep understanding of WebRTC, RTMP, HLS, and media protocols. - Experience with cloud-native development, Docker, Kubernetes, preferably in AWS. - Familiarity with media server frameworks such as Mediasoup, Janus, GStreamer. - Strong debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills. Nice to Have: - Experience in building large-scale live streaming for 1000+ viewers. - Contributions to open-source media platforms and tools. - Familiarity with AI/ML in media (e.g., noise suppression, auto-captioning). - Front-end experience with React, TypeScript, with a bonus for media integrations. - Deep understanding of QoE/QoS, DRM, and encrypted delivery systems.
