As a Service Engineer specializing in the Mechanical side for DG field service, you will be responsible for carrying out B-checks and Top Overhauling of Perkins Engine. Your role will involve tasks such as complete engine overhauling, servicing of radiator, turbocharger, and fuel system, as well as routine and breakdown maintenance of diesel engines. Additionally, you will provide support during installation and commissioning, ensuring optimal performance through vibration checks and troubleshooting major mechanical faults. To excel in this position, you should possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in the Mechanical side, ideally in the Diesel Generator field. The ideal candidate will hold a Mechanical Diploma or ITI certification and must be willing to travel for work. This is a full-time job opportunity, and the selected individual should be prepared to work in person at the designated location. Key Responsibilities: Perform IC Engine calibration activities for meeting the specified performance and emission requirements. Selection and matching of appropriate engine sub-systems such as turbocharger, power cylinder components, fuel systems, etc. To analyse engine performance test data and make necessary design change decisions. To coordinate engine performance testing with cross-functional team including making parts available, test cell readiness, decisions on sensors / data logging, etc. Data Analysis, performance background, ATS tuning and System level understanding SCR, DOC, DPF diagnostic work exp is required. Execute type approval / certification testing by being stationed at external test agencies / certification agencies. Perform analytical calculations / verifications of engine performance. To generate technical reports and maintain technical documentation. Integration of Exhaust Aftertreatment system with Engine. Knowledge of Emission test cycles (WHTC, WHSC,WNTE) Detect and resolve OBD Electric Faults, Components Monitoring, SCR Calibration. Requirements Skills and Experience Required: Qualification MTech or B.E Mechanical or Electronics or Associated Branches (MTech Preferred) Experience Range 4 to 6 Years Sound understanding of IC engine product, specifically diesel engines. Good knowhow of principles of thermodynamics, heat, and energy transfers for making good engine performance calibration development to meet emission norms and performance requirements. Exposure to engine calibration activities necessary. Understanding of engine High Pressure Common Rail (HPCR) fuel system and functioning of Turbocharger and power cylinder components. Problem solving abilities. Should have MATLAB skills Should be proficient in MS-office tools. Good communication and presentation skills. Position expects willingness to travel greater than 25% of time to various test agency and being stationed at Test Agency for monitoring / executing test plan to achieve desired results efficiently.
