Role & responsibilities Oversee the technical management of assigned Tanker and Bulk Carrier vessels. Monitor vessel machinery performance, fuel consumption, and maintenance records. Provide technical guidance to onboard Chief Engineers for daily operational issues. Plan, coordinate, and supervise dry dockings, repairs, and major overhauls. Ensure vessels comply with Class, Flag, ISM, ISPS, SMS, MARPOL, and statutory requirements. Review and manage PMS (Planned Maintenance System) jobs for all machinery. Monitor and optimize vessel operating expenses and budget planning. Inspect vessels regularly and ensure corrective actions are closed on time. Liaise with vendors, workshops, service technicians, and spare-part suppliers. Support the HSEQ team in maintaining high safety and operational standards. Prepare various technical reports and maintain documentation as required. Provide 24/7 technical support during machinery breakdowns and emergencies. Preferred candidate profile Sailing experience as Chief Engineer (mandatory for most companies). Minimum 12 years shore experience as Technical Superintendent (preferred). Experience with Tanker / Bulk Carrier / Container vessels (as per your vacancy). Strong knowledge of marine engineering systems, Class/Flag rules, and PMS. Experience in dry docking , repairs, and machinery overhauls. Good understanding of ISM, ISPS, MARPOL, and safety management. Excellent communication, planning, and decision-making skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple vessels. Computer proficiency with PMS software, MS Office, and reporting tools. Candidates located in or willing to relocate to (Location) .
