Key Responsibilities Vendor Management: Identify, qualify, and develop suppliers for plastics, rubbers, metals, and specialty chemicals. RFQ & Negotiation: Issue RFQs, evaluate vendor quotes, negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules. Procurement Execution: Raise purchase orders, follow up with suppliers, and ensure material availability as per production plans. Quality & Compliance: Verify that all purchased materials meet specifications and quality requirements. Imports & Exports: Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs agents, and logistics teams for timely import/export clearance. Bonded Store Management: Maintain compliance for government bonded warehouses, including documentation and audits. International Vendor Relations: Manage communications, negotiations, and contracts with overseas suppliers. Documentation Control: Maintain accurate purchase records, contracts, customs documents, and supplier performance data. Cost Optimisation: Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs without compromising quality. Qualifications & Skills Essential: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Production/Materials Engineering or related field. 2–3 years’ experience in purchasing within manufacturing. Understanding of plastics, rubbers, metals, and specialty chemicals . Knowledge of procurement processes, commercial terms, and supplier evaluation. Familiarity with import/export documentation, incoterms, and customs clearance. Experience with bonded store regulations and compliance. Strong negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills. Languages: Spoken English, Hindi, Kannada are mandatory. Preferred: Experience in the seals, plastics, or precision engineering industries. Exposure to ERP/MRP systems for procurement. Existing supplier network in relevant materials. Personal Attributes Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills. Proactive and results-driven. Able to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
