Tool Room operator

Working Hours : 8 AM to 5 PM

Job Purpose:

To carry out precision machining operations using lathe and grinding machines to support tool and component preparation, maintenance, and modification as per production and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate conventional Lathe machines to perform turning, facing, threading, and other precision operations.
• Handle OD (Outer Diameter) and ID (Inner Diameter) Grinding machines with skill and accuracy for precision grinding of tools and components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and machining symbols.
• Measure, check, and inspect machined components using instruments like Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Bore Gauges, and Dial Indicators.
• Perform machine setups, wheel dressing, and ensure proper clamping and alignment of workpieces.
• Maintain machining parameters as per drawing specifications and quality standards.
• Support tool and die maintenance, regrinding, and refurbishment activities.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain cleanliness of machines and the tool room area.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams for timely tool supply and defect corrections.

Candidate Profile:

• Educational Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience: 2 to 5 years in Tool Room operations with strong knowledge of Lathe, OD, and ID grinding operations

Skills Required:

• Knowledge of machining processes and material properties
• Proficient in reading technical drawings
• Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments
• Basic troubleshooting of machine issues
• Good coordination and time management
