Life Skills Teacher (Full-Time) Location: Kothanur & Hennur, Bangalore Organization: The Waymaker Initiative Working Hours: Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Saturday (Half-Day): 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM Sunday: Weekly off About Us: The Waymaker Initiative is a registered charitable organization committed to empowering children from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds through education and life skill development. We believe that teaching life skills from an early age is key to building confident, compassionate, and capable future citizens. Position Summary: We are looking for a dedicated Life Skills Teacher who is passionate about working with children in Grades 1 to 6. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills in Kannada and Hindi , with a fair ability to speak in English , and a flair for teaching and nurturing young minds. Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging and age-appropriate life skills training sessions to children from Class 1 to 6. Use training materials and curriculum provided by the organization. Build rapport with students and create a safe, supportive classroom environment. Coordinate with school authorities and NGO staff to ensure smooth program delivery. Monitor student progress and maintain basic records of attendance and feedback. Participate in periodic training and development sessions provided by the NGO. Eligibility Criteria: Education: M.Sc in Social Work or a related field (e.g., Psychology, Education, Human Development). Languages: Must be fluent in Kannada and Hindi , with working knowledge of spoken English . Transport: Must have personal transportation, preferably a two-wheeler . Experience: Prior experience in teaching, training, or child development is preferred, but not mandatory. Personality: Energetic, compassionate, service-oriented, and child-friendly. Training: Basic induction training and teaching resources will be provided. Remuneration: Pay will be discussed during the interview and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications .
