Location: Main Campus Biweekly Hours: 80.00 Shift: 8-5 The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the MetroHealth System is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to join the team and help create and launch a new, full-scope, comprehensive program. The midwifery team is a part of a supportive and highly skilled team of physicians and APPs including our division of 20 generalist 0B-GYN physicians, along with our team of 11 subspecialists, 20 residents, 10 fellows and 8 Advanced Practice Providers. The midwifery team, while functioning independently with respect to the inpatient and outpatient care of patients (office management, admissions, deliveries, prescribing, discharge) works collaboratively with the faculty of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Our midwives are a highly valued and supported division within the OB/GYN department. Participation in diverse activities such as clinical education and research is the expectation. Reporting structure will be directly to the OB/GYN Department Chair. Applicants must hold a graduate degree in midwifery, hold current certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board, and be capable of offering full-scope midwifery care. A successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal and clinical skills. Fluency in Spanish is desirable, and interest in continuous quality improvement and research will be considered an asset. Biweekly Hours: 80.00 Shift: 8-5 Summary Delivers direct patient care consistent with the advanced practice registered nurse’s education, experience and certification, in collaboration with a physician, which includes diagnosis, management and/or referral of health care issues. Promotes consumer, family, and community health through preventative health care actions and through patient advocacy. The advanced practice registered nurse may also manage complex illnesses and/or deliver specialty care. Will see continuity patients for pediatrics, adult health and geriatrics in addition to all other primary care patients. MSN or grandfathered under Ohio Revised Code Graduate of an accredited advanced practice registered nurse program Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Ohio Certificate of Authority as an Advanced Practice Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing Certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in specialty. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or obtains within 90 days of hire. Obtains other advanced life support certifications applicable to practice area within 180 days of hire.
