You will be Leader of our Design cum service engineering team working with Rotary kilns, Ball mills, VRM, Dryer, Cooler & Granulator. About the role: Join us in this role of “Design Head – Core” where you´ll be leading a Design cum Service engineering team responsible for aftermarket solutions for Rotary kilns, Ball mills, VRM, Dryer, Cooler & Granulator. You´ll use your specialist knowledge on challenges that arise in both fabrication, installation and operation, to ensure proper design and to support internal departments and customers. This role requires strong technical skills, creativity, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The position is based out of Chennai. About the Department: You will join & head a highly skilled Design team specialized in cement aftermarket. We have the technical responsibility for all mechanical parts of the Rotary kilns, Ball mills, VRM, Dryer, Cooler & Granulator. This includes but is not limited to mechanical design prepared in SolidWorks, proposal documentation, manufacturing documentation, new design, product improvement. Key Responsibilities: · Responsibility for technical proposal preparation and execution of engineered parts for our aftermarket and retrofit business. · Responsible for on-time, on budget, quality of engineering packages for individual projects. · Works on standardization, product improvement, and development efforts of product line (Value Engineering). · Travels to job sites and regional offices/plants as required in support of equipment problems, installations, and sales efforts. · Assists with solving manufacturing and operational problems. · Analyzes complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures. · Create, review and approve design drawings prepared in SolidWorks 3D and AutoCad. · Perform and Review of mechanical calculations. · Promotes a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company’s operational activities. You bring · Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or a related field). · Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in heavy engineering, preferably within the cement industry or similar. · Proficiency in SolidWorks, CAD, and other engineering tools, with hands-on experience in machine design and engineering documentation. · Strong analytical mindset with the ability to tackle complex design and operational challenges. · Experience from a workshop or site environment, ideally in the cement industry. · A systematic working methodology and a continuous improvement mindset for refining processes and procedures. · Excellent teamwork and technical writing skills in English, with familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
