About the Company: We are a design-led, sustainable lifestyle brand that creates handcrafted bags and accessories using natural materials like jute, cotton canvas, and ethically sourced leathers. With a deep commitment to zero-waste practices and artisan-led production, we work closely with craftspeople across Bengal to produce bags that are practical, beautiful, and rooted in conscious craftsmanship. --- Job Summary: We are looking for a Manufacturing & Production Manager to take ownership of our end-to-end production operations. This includes planning production, supervising craftspeople, managing inventories, ensuring timely execution, and handling administrative operations at our workshop. The ideal candidate will have a background in bag/accessory or apparel manufacturing and be deeply organized and people-oriented. --- Key Responsibilities: Production Management: Plan and schedule daily/weekly/monthly production runs in alignment with sales and inventory forecasts. Coordinate with designers and the sales team to prioritize SKUs and styles. Maintain quality control across all stages: cutting, stitching, printing, finishing, packaging. Team Supervision: Supervise and motivate craftspeople, printers, and stitching teams to maintain productivity and discipline. Maintain attendance, output tracking, and performance reporting. Resolve on-ground workflow or personnel issues with empathy and efficiency. Inventory & Procurement: Track raw material stock, consumption, and reorder cycles. Ensure proper inventory management of finished goods and work-in-progress items. Coordinate with the procurement team to order materials on time. Workshop Administration: Oversee workshop cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and day-to-day upkeep. Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and external partners as needed. Maintain workshop records, HR files, and administrative documentation. Reporting & Documentation: Maintain production logs, costing sheets, and batch-wise tracking. Prepare regular reports on inventory, order status, productivity, and wastage. --- Key Requirements: Experience: 3–5 years in production management, preferably in bags, accessories, footwear, or apparel. Technical Knowledge: Hands-on understanding of manufacturing processes for natural material-based or leather goods. Software: Proficient with Excel or Google Sheets; comfortable using WhatsApp and basic digital tools. Language: Fluency in Hindi and/or Bengali. English is required for documentation. Location: Candidate must be based in or near Kolkata, preferably within commuting distance of our workshop in Rajpur-Sonarpur. --- Nice to Have: Prior experience working with artisan clusters or craft-led production.
