📢 We’re Hiring: Part-Time Senior Design Consultant – Bags & Accessories Who we are The Burlap People is a small studio based in Kolkata, making earth-friendly bags and accessories. For the past 10 years, we’ve relied on instinct and late-night sketches. Now, we’re ready to build structure - and that’s where you come in. Why we need you We’re looking for an experienced designer (min. 3 years) to dedicate 8–10 hours a month to help us: • 📆 Map a simple design calendar with launch dates and checkpoints • 🎨 Formalise our design language and material guidelines • 👥 Mentor two junior designers and review their tech-packs • 🧵 Integrate Indian craft techniques into modern, versatile designs • 🌱 Ensure every decision aligns with sustainability and fair practice What you bring • 3+ years of experience in bags, small leather goods, or accessories • Strong skills in pattern-making and costing • Hands-on experience with natural or recycled materials • Global exposure—through study, work, or collaborations • Excellent communication; primarily remote with quarterly visits to our Kolkata workshop What we offer • Travel and stay covered for quarterly on-site days • Creative freedom, visible credit on launches • A values-led, small team that respects your time Interested?
