Job Description

The TGT English Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective English lessons to students in middle and senior school (Grades VI and above) in accordance with CBSE curriculum guidelines. The teacher will foster language proficiency, reading comprehension, creative writing, and communication skills while creating a positive and stimulating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Academic Delivery

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons as per the CBSE curriculum.
  • Ensure lessons are engaging, interactive, and cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Integrate grammar, literature, and language skills into teaching effectively.
  • Conduct assessments, class tests, and periodic examinations in line with CBSE guidelines.
  • Maintain records of students academic progress and attendance.

2. Student Development

  • Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and independent expression among students.
  • Identify learning gaps and provide remedial support where required.
  • Promote reading habits and guide students in literary appreciation and communication.

3. Classroom Management

  • Maintain discipline, decorum, and a positive learning atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Manage classroom resources and ensure an orderly and safe environment for students.

4. Curriculum & Co-curricular Involvement

  • Participate in curriculum planning, departmental meetings, and school events.
  • Guide students for debates, elocutions, dramatics, and literary competitions.
  • Contribute to English club activities and school publications.

5. Administrative & Professional Duties

  • Update lesson plans, students performance records, and report cards on time.
  • Attend staff meetings, workshops, and professional development programs.
  • Coordinate with parents during PTMs and communicate academic progress effectively.
  • Adhere to school policies, academic standards, and ethical guidelines.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in lesson planning and creative teaching methodologies.
  • Ability to use technology and digital tools in teaching (e.g., smart boards, MS Office, LMS).
  • Empathy, patience, and enthusiasm for student growth.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
