Textile Designer

Job Summary

A Textile Designer creates original fabric designs for use in fashion, home furnishings, upholstery, wall coverings, or industrial applications. This role combines creativity, technical skill, and market awareness to develop patterns, textures, and colorways that align with brand identity and consumer trends.

Key Responsibilities

• Research trends, color palettes, materials, and techniques relevant to the target market
• Create original textile designs, including prints, patterns, and woven or knitted structures
• Develop designs using hand sketching, painting, and digital design software
• Prepare repeat patterns, color separations, and production-ready artwork
• Collaborate with fashion designers, product developers, and production teams
• Select yarns, fabrics, and finishes appropriate for design intent and end use
• Create and maintain design boards, samples, and seasonal collections
• Oversee sampling, prototyping, and quality control during production
• Ensure designs meet technical, cost, and sustainability requirements
• Maintain organized design archives and documentation

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related field
• Strong understanding of color theory, pattern development, and fabric construction
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or CAD textile programs
• Ability to create both hand-drawn and digital designs
• Knowledge of printing, weaving, knitting, embroidery, or dyeing techniques
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to ₹75,000.00 per month
