Test Engineer - Data

As a QA Engineer for data pipelines, ETL processes, and API endpoints, your role involves designing and executing test plans using tools like Great Expectations and pytest. You will be responsible for end-to-end testing of data workflows, identifying defects in datasets, and collaborating with engineers to implement CI/CD pipelines with testing gates. Your key responsibilities will include: - Designing and executing test plans for data pipelines, ETL processes, and API endpoints. - Developing automated test scripts using tools like Great Expectations and pytest. - Performing end-to-end testing of data ingestion, transformation, and reporting workflows. - Collaborating with engineers to implement CI/CD pipelines with testing gates. - Conducting performance and security testing for APIs. - Monitoring production environments for issues and contributing to post-mortem analyses. - Staying updated on testing best practices for cloud-native data stacks. Qualifications required for this role: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Quality Assurance, or a related field. - 5+ years of experience in QA/testing, with a focus on data pipelines or backend systems. - Proficiency in SQL and scripting in Python or Java. - Experience testing cloud platforms (GCP preferred) and tools like BigQuery or Looker. - Strong understanding of API testing using tools like Postman or Karate. - Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and experience in agile methodologies. Additionally, preferred skills include familiarity with data quality frameworks, orchestration testing, load testing tools, compliance testing, and exposure to Trino/Starburst and dbt.,
