Role & responsibilities : Geometric Design: Prepare optimize horizontal & vertical alignments, typical cross-sections, junctions/interchanges, service roads, access control, bus bays/lay-bys, and median & shoulder treatments as per IRC:73/86/65, MoRTH Spec (latest rev.). Junction/Intersection Design s : Design at-grade junctions, roundabouts, signalized intersections, channelization, turning templates, pedestrian/cycle facilities, and grade separated interchanges as per IRC:SP-41/65/99 and MoRTH. Pavement Design: Perform new/overlay designs using traffic loading and materials data in line with IRC:37/58/81; prepare layer compositions, thickness design notes, and life-cycle considerations. Drainage & Road Safety: Size and lay road-side drains/culverts (concept level), ensure sight distance, super-elevation, transitions, roadside safety appurtenances per IRC:SP-73/IRC:SP-84/IRC:SP-88; integrate RSA findings. Digital Delivery: Develop plan-profile-cross-section drawings, 3D surface models, and quantities/BOQ; manage design data, model coordination, and revisions using CDEs. Approvals & Coordination: Interface with clients/authorities (MoRTH/NHAI/PIU/ULBs), respond to RFIs, and secure DFR/DPR/Good-for Construction approvals, coordinate with structures, traffic, utilities, environment, and land teams. Rate Analysis & Estimate Preparation: Develop BOQs, abstract of cost, and unitrate build-ups using CPWD/State SoR/MoRTH SoR/DSR; perform market-rate checks and quantity reconciliation. Preparing Tender Documents: Compile bid packages Technical Specs, Employers Requirements, BOQ, drawings, and addenda; support pre-bid queries and tender evaluation inputs. Site Support: Provide shop-drawing reviews, design clarifications, and change notes during construction; resolve field non-conformities with practical, standards-compliant fixes. Documentation: Produce design reports, method statements, design calculations, and checklists aligned to ISO 9001/14001/45001 and internal QAP. Mentoring & QA/QC: Review/check others work, run peer reviews, and enforce model/drawing standards to reduce rework. Preferred candidate profile : Candidate should must be graduate (B.E./BTech in Civil Engineering) Post Graduate should be preferred. (M.E/MTech in Transportation/Highways) Candidate should have minimum 10 years experience in Roads & Highway/Expressway Design with at least 2 end-to-end DPR/IFC deliveries; exposure to EPC/HAM documentation desirable. Codes/Standards: Strong command of IRC (73/37/58/81, SP-73/84/99, etc.), MoRTH Specifications, and BIS/IS where applicable; familiarity with AASHTO is a plus. Software: Proficiency in any two major platforms: Autodesk Civil 3D, strong AutoCAD, basics of QGIS/ArcGIS; MS Excel for design calculation. Technical Skills: Geometric design, pavement thickness design, quantity take-offs, BOQ/costing inputs, constructability, and utilities/interface awareness. • Soft Skills: Clear technical writing, client/stakeholder communication, planning & prioritization, and team mentoring.
