As a Nuclear Medicine Technician, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare industry by operating specialized imaging equipment to create diagnostic images of patients' internal structures and organs using radioactive materials
You will work closely with healthcare professionals, including radiologists and physicians, to ensure accurate and safe diagnostic procedures
Responsibilities:Patient Care: Provide exceptional care to patients by explaining procedures, preparing them for nuclear medicine tests, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process
Radiopharmaceutical Handling: Safely prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients according to established protocols, ensuring accurate dosage and record-keeping
Imaging Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain gamma cameras, PET scanners, and other nuclear medicine imaging equipment to capture high-quality images
Image Acquisition: Position patients correctly and operate the imaging equipment to acquire diagnostic images, ensuring the best image quality
Radiation Safety: Adhere to strict radiation safety guidelines and protocols to minimize exposure to radiation for patients and staff
Monitor and maintain safety equipment
Image Processing: Process and enhance acquired images using computer software to improve the quality of diagnostic results
Quality Control: Conduct routine quality control tests on equipment and radiopharmaceuticals to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient procedures, dosages, and any adverse reactions
Keep detailed documentation for compliance and legal purposes
Collaboration: Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to discuss patient cases, review images, and contribute to the diagnostic process
