Technician- Automation I

As a Manufacturing Engineering Technician at our company, you will play a crucial role in the installation, qualification, and troubleshooting of systems to ensure smooth manufacturing operations. Your primary focus will be on material handling and automation equipment, with potential cross-training in other process tools. Your responsibilities will involve identifying and implementing system improvements to enhance throughput, yield, and product performance. To qualify for this position, you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, along with one of the following criteria: - Associates degree in a technical discipline - Two or more years of machine or mechanic experience - One year of technical experience at First Solar - Six months of experience as a Temporary Manufacturing Engineering Technician at First Solar You should possess a safety-first mindset, along with a good understanding of electrical, electronic, automation, and mechanical systems. Being self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision is essential, as well as having strong written and oral communication skills in English. Your ability to troubleshoot and solve manufacturing line problems, handle administrative tasks, and work with AGV/Robotic/Automation/Material handling systems will be key to your success in this role. Your essential responsibilities will include solving production, equipment, and process issues, implementing improvements, analyzing data, maintaining process control, and providing training to production associates. You will also be responsible for developing and updating documentation, interfacing with internal associates and suppliers, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures and standards. In this role, you will need to be physically capable of standing, walking, and occasionally climbing stairs for up to 12 hours per day. You should also be able to lift, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting of up to 27 pounds. Maintaining good vision, using personal protective equipment, and complying with safety standards are essential requirements for this position.
