Job Requirements
Cloud FinOps SpecialistWe are seeking a motivated and results-oriented Cloud FinOps Specialist to join our team andplay a key role in optimizing our cloud spend. You will be responsible for implementing theFinOps framework within our organization, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and drivingcontinuous improvement in our cloud deployment architecture from cost perspective.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with finance, engineering, and business teams to establish and implement
cloud best practices for better cost optimization & resource utilization across different
services of cloud service provider from EC2 instances to managed services to serverlesscomputes and AI and data services such as EMRs and MapReduce
- Analyze cloud cost and utilization data to identify areas for optimization
- Cost benefit analysis of workload getting migrated to cloud along with capacity and
budget planning
- Develop and implement cost-saving strategies aligned with business needs and cloud
resources (e.g., rightsizing instances, reserved instances, spot instances)
- Recommend and implement cloud cost management tools
- Create and maintain cost allocation models to track spending across departments or
projects
- Generate reports and dashboards to visualize cloud costs, identify trends, and measure
the success of FinOps initiatives
- Educate application teams on Cloud FinOps principles and best practices
- Stay up-to-date on the latest cloud pricing models, FinOps best practices, and cost
optimization techniques
Qualifications
- Proven experience in cloud cost management and optimization
- Strong understanding of cloud cost management principles and the FinOps framework
- Experience with cloud cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cloud Cost Optimisation Hub,
AWS Cost Management)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good to have
- Experience with multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- FinOps Certified Practitioner or equivalent certification
- Experience with financial modeling and budgeting
- Experience with scripting languages like Python or Bash
