Tax Associate Manager

As a Tax Associate Manager at Accenture, you will play a crucial role in the Finance Operations vertical by assisting in determining financial outcomes through the collection of operational data and conducting in-depth analysis while reconciling transactions. Your responsibilities will involve supporting indirect periodic tax filings, such as VAT, local sales and use taxes, property, and income taxes, based on clients" interpretations of statutory and tax requirements. To excel in this role, you should possess specialized expertise in the Vertex tax system. Your technical skills should include proficiency in Vertex tax software, with the ability to configure and maintain it effectively. Strong SQL skills for data extraction and analysis, along with experience in ERP systems integration with tax software, will be essential. You will be expected to interpret complex tax data, provide actionable insights, identify issues within tax systems, and develop effective solutions. Effective communication skills are crucial for collaborating across teams, and a proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for tasks and projects is required. Key responsibilities include administering and maintaining the Vertex tax software, ensuring accurate configuration and integration with financial systems, monitoring and implementing changes in tax codes within the Vertex system, extracting and analyzing tax data to identify trends and opportunities for tax optimization, preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to tax calculations and reporting, identifying and implementing enhancements to tax data management processes, and collaborating with finance, legal, and IT teams for seamless integration and operation of Vertex within the broader financial ecosystem. The ideal candidate for this role should hold a BCom/MCom/Master of Business Administration degree with 10 to 14 years of relevant experience. Preferred qualifications include previous experience in tax analysis or tax technology roles, particularly involving Vertex, and certifications such as CPA, CMI, or equivalent certification. Familiarity with data visualization tools and advanced Excel functions will be an added advantage.
