Utilize computer - aided design (CAD) software and other design tools to develop accurate and precise drawings. Project Coordination : Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to gather project requirements and specifications. Coordinate design activities with the project team to ensure compliance with project objectives, codes, regulations, and client expectations. Site Analysis and Surveying : Conduct site visits and surveys to gather data on topography, existing structures, and infrastructure. Analyze site conditions and constraints to develop appropriate design solutions and optimize project outcomes. Structural Design Support : Work closely with structural engineers to provide design support and coordination for structural elements of civil engineering projects. Assist in the development of structural plans, calculations, and specifications. Technical Calculations and Analysis : Perform engineering calculations, such as earthwork volume calculations, stormwater drainage calculations, and slope stability analysis. Utilize engineering software and tools to analyze and verify design parameters and specifications. Regulatory Compliance : Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, zoning regulations, environmental regulations, and other applicable standards. Stay updated with the latest regulatory requirements and integrate them into design solutions. Documentation and Reporting : Prepare and maintain project documentation, including design drawings, technical specifications, reports, and project records. Create comprehensive and accurate design documentation for review and approval by clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders. Quality Control and Review : Conduct quality control checks to review design drawings and ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements. Collaborate with the project team to address design issues, resolve conflicts, and propose design modifications if necessary. Construction Support : Provide support during the construction phase of projects by addressing design - related queries, reviewing shop drawings, and assisting in resolving construction - related issues. The PE provides support to the Project Manager (PM) and Engineering Manager (EM) and is responsible for supervising a team of working engineer and designers.
