The Senior ServiceNow Developer designs, builds, and maintains scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions across the ServiceNow platform. This role requires deep expertise in ServiceNow application development, including client/server scripting, Flow Designer, integrations (REST/SOAP APIs), SAML/SSO configuration, and enterprise data management. The Senior Developer partners closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and key stakeholders to deliver automation, optimize platform performance, and support strategic business objectives. Education & Certification Requirements Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred) ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) Clearance Requirements Public Trust required Active VA Tier 4 clearance is mandatory Onsite Requirements Fully remote Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement advanced ServiceNow solutions, workflows, and applications across multiple modules. Support and enhance ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, and related ServiceNow capabilities. Build and maintain Service Portal pages, widgets, and intuitive user experiences. Create and manage Service Catalog items, record producers, and complex request workflows. Develop and maintain integrations with third-party systems using REST, SOAP, JDBC, and MID Server architecture. Configure and support authentication and access management (SAML 2.0, OAuth, SSO). Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform, integration, and performance issues. Produce high-quality technical documentation, design specs, and deployment plans. Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, and Business Operations teams to deliver sustainable, compliant solutions. Mentor junior developers and uphold coding, testing, and deployment standards. Stay current with ServiceNow capabilities and recommend enhancements, optimizations, and automation opportunities. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in ServiceNow development within Agile or SAFe environments Mastery of JavaScript, Glide APIs, and the full ServiceNow development lifecycle Strong understanding of platform security, ACLs, UI policies, client scripts, and data management best practices Experience with Flow Designer, Business Rules, Script Includes, and ServiceNow integrations Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills Desired Skills CIS certifications in ITSM, ITOM, or CMDB, or a strong desire to obtain them Experience with Automated Test Framework (ATF) and instance migration best practices ITIL v4 Foundation certification or equivalent process knowledge Familiarity with FedRAMP, CMMI, or ISO 9001 environments
