System Engineer, Staff

As a System Engineer, Staff at Lam Research, you play a vital role in designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Your responsibilities include conducting feasibility studies, testing, and providing guidance to teams in detailed design and fabrication processes. Your expertise contributes significantly to shaping the technology's packaging. Your key responsibilities in this role will involve developing system specifications based on product and process specifications, overseeing system architecture options, integrating platform, handler, and process modules, and leading programs to ensure seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, chemical, hardware, software, and control elements to meet system specifications. You will be responsible for breaking down the system into functional sub-systems, defining sub-system functional specifications, developing serviceability/reliability/maintainability allocation models, and approving test plans at both system and sub-system levels. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams globally and drive projects independently while maintaining effectiveness. We are seeking candidates with a B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech/PhD in Mechanical or Systems Engineering, along with 17-22 years of relevant experience in systems engineering activities for medium to large assemblies of capital equipment. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in designing and operating complex industrial machinery involving various mechanical, electrical, software systems, and real-time control systems, as well as leading structured problem-solving investigations and high-level system integration challenges. Experience in risk mitigation processes, RCCA preparation for customers, and excellent communication skills are highly valued.
