You will independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation. Collaboration with development and support leads is essential to identify documentation repositories, revise and edit content, and determine optimal solutions for data compilation and centralized storage. You will research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that adhere to organizational and legal standards, ensuring easy data migration. Additionally, you will develop content in various media forms to maximize usability and maintain a consistent voice across all documentation. Your objectives will include developing comprehensive documentation that aligns with organizational standards, translating complex product information into user-friendly content, and maintaining detailed databases of reference materials. You will evaluate current content and propose innovative approaches for improvement. To excel in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field, such as Computer Science or Healthcare, along with at least 3 years of industry experience as a technical writer. Your ability to quickly grasp complex topics, write for multiple audiences, and work effectively with engineering teams to refine content will be critical. Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and experience with the systems development life cycle (SDLC) are essential. Ideally, you will have previous software development experience, certification through the Society for Technical Communicators, and proficiency in using XML tools for documentation creation.
