Technical Project Manager – SWIFT India Domestic Services At SWIFT India, we’re revolutionizing financial messaging by enabling secure, standardized solutions for banks, corporates, and institutions. As a Technical Project Manager, you’ll drive the integration of SWIFT’s API-based services, working closely with bank IT teams, global SWIFT teams, and corporate clients to deliver seamless financial connectivity. This role combines project management expertise with technical fluency, requiring you to navigate complex stakeholder environments and champion SWIFT’s mission. Role Overview We’re seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of API-based financial messaging solutions for trade, treasury, and payments. You’ll coordinate with banks, corporates, and implementation partners to ensure the successful adoption of SWIFT-standard Open APIs. This role demands strong project management skills, technical acumen, and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders. You’ll operate at the intersection of business and technology, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with SWIFT India’s strategic goals. Note : This role focuses on project coordination and technical guidance; it does not involve managing an engineering or development team. Key Responsibilities Project & Stakeholder Management Lead complex, multi-stakeholder projects using Agile methodologies, ensuring alignment with SWIFT India’s roadmap and client expectations. Serve as the central coordinator between SWIFT India, corporate clients, bank IT teams, SWIFT Global, and implementation partners. Manage bank-side integration, aligning with bank IT teams to ensure seamless API connectivity and compliance with SWIFT standards. Proactively manage risks, dependencies, and timelines, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned on project milestones. Technical Guidance & Solution Support Provide expert guidance on SWIFT APIs, ISO 20022 messaging standards, OpenAPI tools, and API architecture to clients and internal teams. Lead ERP integration discussions (e.g., SAP, Oracle), ensuring SWIFT APIs are embedded into corporate workflows for trade, treasury, and payments. Experience managing ERP API projects is highly valued. Collaborate with architects and client IT teams to validate integration flows, ensuring compliance with SWIFT’s security and messaging standards. Pre-Sales & Solutioning Support pre-sales activities, including solutioning, RFI/RFP responses, and client engagement to shape project scopes and proposals. Contribute to the development of service proposals and engagement decks that showcase SWIFT’s value to clients. Client Engagement & Advocacy Lead client meetings, solution walkthroughs, and onboarding sessions with bank IT and corporate treasury teams. Evangelize SWIFT Domestic services, driving adoption among India’s leading financial institutions and corporates. Translate client feedback into actionable insights for product and service enhancements. Documentation & Service Enablement Develop customer-facing materials, including solution briefs and service descriptions. Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and internal playbooks to ensure consistent, scalable service delivery. Governance & Reporting Maintain program-level dashboards, risk logs, and executive reports to track progress and ensure transparency. Escalate issues through formal governance channels and propose solutions to keep projects on track. Global Coordination Facilitate cross-team alignment with SWIFT Global and SID teams to ensure cohesive project execution and knowledge sharing. Qualifications and Experience Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Experience : 6+ years in project management within technology-driven environments (e.g., IT, software, consulting). Technical Skills : Familiarity with RESTful APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, and integration methods. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and financial data security principles. Knowledge of ISO 20022 and SWIFT messaging standards is a strong plus (training provided). Project Management : Experience with Agile methodologies; PMP or Prince2 certification is a bonus but not required.
