Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month Job description: Hospital Pharmacist – Job Profile (5 Years Experience) Job Summary As a hospital pharmacist with 5 years of experience, you play a critical role in managing medication therapy within a clinical environment. Your responsibilities go beyond basic dispensing — you're involved in clinical decision-making, patient care, drug safety, and managing inventory and compliance with healthcare regulations. Key Roles & Responsibilitie / Clinical Duties Review prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness. Monitor patients’ responses to medications and report adverse drug reactions (ADRs). Provide drug information to doctors and nurses. Suggest alternative medications in case of shortages or interactions. Dispensing & Counseling Dispense medicines as per doctor’s prescriptions. Advise patients on dosage, possible side effects, and drug interactions. Provide guidance on use of IV medications, injections, and controlled substances Inventory & Stock Management Manage procurement, storage, and distribution of drugs. Ensure availability of essential and emergency medicines. Check for expired/near-expiry drugs and manage returns or disposals. * Regulatory & Documentation Maintain pharmacy records and audit trails (Schedule H, H1, X drugs). Ensure compliance with NABH, JCI, or local accreditation standards. Handle internal and external audits of pharmacy services. Team Supervision Train and supervise junior pharmacists and pharmacy assistants. Coordinate with nursing and medical staff on medication-related queries. Participate in clinical rounds (in some hospitals). Skills & Expertise In-depth knowledge of pharmacology & hospital formulary Familiarity with HIS (Hospital Information System) & pharmacy software Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Knowledge of drug laws and hospital pharmacy protocols Inventory and supply chain management Clinical judgment in drug therapy Typical Qualifications B. Pharm or D. Pharm (must be registered with the State Pharmacy Council) Typical Work Environment In-patient pharmacy (IPD) Out-patient pharmacy (OPD) Emergency/Casualty ward Operation Theatre (OT) pharmacy ICU/CCU environments (for critical care drug supply) Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Work Location: In person
