ROLE OVERVIEW: Sutherland has an immediate opening for a corporate in-house attorney with significant experience in IT-enabled services. The Commercial Contracts Attorney will work directly with business teams and customers to draft and negotiate commercial contracts, prepare contract abstracts, follow up with business stakeholders, and manage end to end commercial contract negotiations. The attorney will be responsible for contract negotiations with a primary focus on Sutherlands existing Travel and Digital Business Services. This position reports to Sutherland’s VP, Commercial Contracts Counsel in North America and can be based out of Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Cochin & Bangalore, India. Domestic and international travel may be required on occasion. QUALIFICATIONS: 15 years of experience in an in-house legal department, preferably in IT enabled services. Experience negotiating commercial contracts with customers and suppliers, including RFPs and proposals in the Travel Industry and Financial Services outsourcing Transactional experience with commercial contract negotiations. Compliance of any industry specific aspects – Banking, Outsourcing or Cloud deal with commercial contract negotiations. Experience with IT Enabled Services, BPO, ITO and Cloud based services. Pre Sales - Contract Negotiation / Drafting / Face to Face meeting and Hands on Knowledge in dealing with Client’s legal / Outside Counsel. Knowledge of Alternate Dispute Mechanisms Knowledge of latest technology related aspects – AI / ML / App Development/ Software Licenses/ System Integration / Cloud Infrastructure Mgmt / Master Services Agreement / ERP implementation / Managed Services / Data Warehouse Mgmt/ Vendor agreement experience. Working knowledge of US and UK based clients – culture, negotiation techniques, Software licensing and product licensing – a plus Cloud based offerings or digital enablement – a plus

Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled AWS Architect with hands-on experience in Terraform-based infrastructure automation, DevOps practices, and AWS Landing Zone design. The ideal candidate will have a strong command over observability, monitoring, and AWS-native security services and be proficient in core AWS services including Lambda, S3, and SQS. This role will play a key part in designing scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native solutions for enterprise workloads. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement secure and scalable AWS architectures including Landing Zone configurations. Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ensuring repeatability and compliance. Lead cloud adoption strategy with focus on DevOps automation, CI/CD pipeline integration, and environment consistency. Implement observability and monitoring frameworks using services like CloudWatch, X-Ray, AWS Config, and third-party tools. Ensure robust security and governance, leveraging services such as IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and AWS WAF. Architect serverless solutions using AWS Lambda, with integrations across S3, SQS, API Gateway, and other AWS services. Work with application and operations teams to implement highly available and fault-tolerant systems. Participate in architecture reviews, cost optimization initiatives, and Well-Architected Framework assessments. Required Skills & Qualifications: 8+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in AWS cloud architecture. Proficient in Terraform, with a strong understanding of modular IaC and reusable design patterns. Strong background in DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, CodeBuild). Proven experience in setting up and managing AWS Landing Zones (Control Tower or custom). Deep knowledge of AWS services: Compute: Lambda, EC2 Storage: S3 Messaging: SQS Networking: VPC, Route 53, Load Balancers Security: IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Security Hub Observability: CloudWatch, X-Ray, AWS Config Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, SOC2, ISO 27001) and cloud security best practices. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills. AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional (preferred). Preferred Qualifications: Experience in multi-account AWS environments and service control policies (SCPs). Exposure to containerized workloads (ECS/EKS) and microservices architecture. Familiarity with FinOps, cost tracking, and tagging strategies.
