Job Description

Conduct surveys to determine the locations of natural features and human-made structures on the earth's surface, underground, and underwater using electronic distance-measuring equipment and other surveying instruments. Operate and manage land-information computer systems, including tasks such as storing data, making inquiries, and producing plots and reports. Review information from survey teams regarding measurements of distances, directions, angles between points, and elevations of points, lines, and contours on, above, and below the earth's surface. Research legal records, seek evidence of previous boundaries, and analyze data to determine boundary lines" locations. Record survey results, verify data accuracy, and prepare plots, maps, and reports. This role requires an experienced professional with a general understanding of the specialization area, typically receiving instructions for routine work.
