About the Role Surlon Group is expanding its R&D division and seeking a Hydraulic Design Engineer to develop hydraulic shock absorbers and damping systems for global applications used in transportation and industrial applications worldwide. This is a design-focused role — ideal for an engineer who can design from first principles , perform complete hydraulic and mechanical calculations , and translate performance requirements into manufacturable designs. Key Responsibilities Design and develop hydraulic shock absorbers and damping systems end-to-end. Perform oil flow and pressure drop calculations for valves, orifices, and flow paths. Develop and tune force–velocity and force–displacement curves to achieve target damping characteristics. Simulate hydraulic behavior using Simcenter AMESim , MATLAB/SimHydraulics , or Automation Studio . Conduct CFD and FEA (ANSYS / COMSOL / SolidWorks Flow) for valve, piston, and housing optimization. Prepare design documentation , including calculation reports, validation plans, and test correlation studies. Work with prototype and testing teams to validate products through HEICO, BISS, or MTS dynamic test rigs and correlate design simulations with real test data. Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure design feasibility and durability. Required Expertise Strong fundamentals in fluid mechanics , hydraulic damping theory , and dynamic systems . Proven experience in valve/orifice sizing , flow coefficient analysis , and force–velocity modeling . Hands-on with hydraulic simulation tools : Simcenter AMESim, SimHydraulics (MATLAB), Automation Studio, or HydroSym. Skilled in CAD (SolidWorks/CATIA) and CFD/FEA for design optimization. Exposure to hydraulic damper testing systems such as HEICO , BISS , or MTS or related for performance validation and correlation. 5–10 years of product design experience in hydraulic shock absorbers or damping systems . B.E./M.Tech in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Hydraulic Engineering. Work on international damping technology programs from concept to production. Be part of a growing R&D environment focused on performance, safety, and innovation. Full ownership of product development — from theory → design → simulation → testing . CTC= 7-10LPA
