AutoCAD Drafting & Site Survey 1. Overview of the Role and Its Scope. The AutoCAD Drafting & Site Survey Engineer is responsible for preparing precise CAD drawings and layouts based on project requirements and site surveys. The role involves conducting on-site measurements, preparing as-built drawings, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and client expectations. 2. Key Responsibilities. • Prepare detailed AutoCAD drawings including floor plans, sections, and layouts. • Conduct site surveys to collect accurate data. • Update drawings based on survey findings, client inputs, and design modifications. • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and project teams for seamless workflows. • Prepare as-built drawings and fire escape route plans as per project needs. • Ensure adherence to NBC, NFPA, and other relevant standards. • Maintain proper documentation and version control of drawings. 3. Required Skills and Capabilities. Technical Skills: • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting and detailing). • Knowledge of building codes, fire safety standards, and drawing practices. • Familiarity with site survey techniques and measuring tools. Soft Skills: • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. • Good communication and reporting skills. • Time management and multitasking abilities. • Capability to work independently and in coordination with teams. 4. Tools and Integrations Used. • AutoCAD / AutoCAD LT → For drafting and detailing. • MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) → For reports, BOQs, and documentation. • Survey Tools → Laser distance meter, measuring tape, book, pen, and marker. • Collaboration Tools → Email, Microsoft Teams, Google Drive, or similar platforms. 5. Known Limitations. • Frequent site visits may be required based on project demands. • Drawing accuracy depends on on-site data quality and site accessibility. • Tight project timelines can lead to extended working hours. • Coordination challenges between site teams and design teams may affect delivery schedules.
