Position Summary The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations to ensure guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas meet the hotel’s standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation. This role ensures staff performance, schedules, training, and quality control are managed efficiently to deliver an exceptional guest experience. Key Responsibilities1. Operational Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate activities of room attendants, public area attendants, and laundry staff. Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, corridors, and public areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met. Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Update room status in the Property Management System (PMS). Monitor guest requests and special instructions to ensure prompt service. Handle lost and found items according to hotel policy. Ensure readiness of rooms for guest arrivals, including VIP and special requests. 2. Staff Supervision & Training Assign daily tasks and room allocations to the team. Train new employees on cleaning procedures, safety standards, and service expectations. Monitor staff performance and provide coaching or corrective action when needed. Ensure adequate staffing levels based on occupancy forecasts. 3. Quality Assurance Conduct daily walk-throughs with the Executive Housekeeper. Maintain cleanliness checklists and ensure compliance with SOPs. Follow up on guest complaints related to housekeeping services and take corrective actions. 4. Inventory & Supplies Monitor usage of cleaning supplies, linen, and guest amenities. Assist in inventory control of linen, uniforms, and cleaning supplies. Report maintenance issues to Engineering and follow up until completion. 5. Health & Safety Ensure all staff follow safety procedures and use PPE properly. Maintain compliance with hotel hygiene standards and local regulations. Conduct safety briefings and participate in fire and emergency drills.
