Position Summary: A Student Mentor provides guidance, support, and encouragement to students, helping them navigate academic, social, and personal challenges. The mentor serves as a positive role model and a resource to promote student success, well-being, and engagement within the academic community. Key Responsibilities: Offer one-on-one or group mentoring sessions to support students academically and personally. Help mentees develop effective study habits, time management, and goal-setting strategies. Provide guidance on navigating campus resources, such as academic advising, counseling, and extracurricular activities. Encourage involvement in student life to foster a sense of belonging and community. Monitor mentee progress and maintain regular contact through scheduled meetings or informal check-ins. Maintain confidentiality and provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment. Refer students to appropriate support services when necessary. Participate in training sessions, workshops, and ongoing professional development. Document interactions and submit progress reports when required by the program. Qualifications: Must be a current student in good academic standing. Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Demonstrated responsibility, reliability, and professionalism. Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in helping peers succeed. Familiarity with campus resources and student life is a plus. Previous experience in mentoring, tutoring, or peer support roles is an asset (but not required).
