Job Description

The Stores Manager will be responsible for ensuring efficient inventory management, timely stock replenishment and adherence to company policies. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills to maintain optimal inventory levels and support the procurement, production & logistics teams. Role & responsibilities: Manage stores for raw materials, packaging, finished goods, equipment & maintenance spares. Manage & supervise day-to-day store operations, including receiving, storing & issuing materials. Ensure accurate & timely inventory control, including stock-taking, cycle counting & reconciliation of discrepancies. Coordinate with the production team to forecast material requirements & ensure the timely availability of materials for production & sales dispatches. Implement & maintain effective inventory management systems & processes to optimize stock levels, minimize waste & ensure adherence to set timelines. Develop & implement procedures for safe & efficient handling, storage & transportation of materials. Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, including receiving, issuing & returns. Monitor & report on KPIs related to inventory management & store operations. Ensure compliance with health, safety & environmental regulations & company policies. Train & develop store personnel to ensure high standards of performance & efficiency. Collaborate with procurement, production, quality control & logistics teams to address any issues related to material quality or availability. Skills & Personal Attributes: Proficiency in verbal & written communication. Strong attention to detail & organizational skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Problem-solving & conflict resolution skills. High level of integrity & professionalism. Empathetic & approachable demeanor. Strong work ethic & commitment to continuous improvement. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP and Inventory Management Software. Working Conditions: The selected candidate will typically work at the research & development facility in Pune. Some travel may be required for supplier visits, training sessions, meetings at other company locations & off-site activities. The role may sometimes require evening or weekend work to meet deadlines or address urgent inventory issues.
