Position Summary

Store Manager

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Financial Management

  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets as per business plan.
  • Oversee all cash transactions, ensuring accurate daily reconciliation and timely bank deposits.
  • Monitor and verify daily outlet expenses, maintaining cost efficiency.

2. Customer Management

  • Ensure prompt and fair resolution of customer claims and complaints.
  • Maintain high service standards, ensuring every customer is attended to with equal importance and courtesy.

3. People Management

  • Lead, motivate, and supervise the outlet staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure all team members report on time and adhere to grooming and uniform standards.
  • Promote teamwork and a positive work environment through effective communication and engagement.

4. Operations & Process Management

  • Maintain optimal stock levels and ensure timely rotation to minimize obsolescence.
  • Ensure the store is clean, hygienic, and merchandise is displayed attractively as per visual merchandising standards.
  • Generate and submit daily sales reports, cash statements, and monthly closing reports accurately and on time.

Minimum Job Requirements

Educational Qualification:

  • Minimum: Graduate in any discipline
  • Preferred:
    • BBA in Retail
    • MBA
    • PG Diploma in Retail Management

Experience:

  • 13 years as Store Manager in a small-format retail outlet,

    or

  • Experience as a Department/Vertical Head in a large-format retail store

Target Age:

Personality Requirements:

  • Well-groomed and presentable
  • Strong proficiency in retail selling techniques
  • Analytical and numerically sound

Competencies

Technical / Functional:

  1. Retail selling and merchandising skills
  2. Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, POS systems)

Behavioral:

  1. Proven leadership and team management skills
  2. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  3. Customer orientation and problem-solving approach
  4. Team building and motivational capability

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)

Quantitative:

  1. Achievement of sales targets vs. assigned goals
  2. Month-over-month and year-over-year growth in store performance
  3. Satisfactory audit scores and compliance adherence

Qualitative:

  1. Improved adherence to key retail sales processes
  2. High customer satisfaction and retention levels
