Job Description

1. Purpose of the Role The State Head – Maharashtra is responsible for overall business development, project execution, team leadership, and profit & loss (P&L) management across the assigned state. The role ensures strategic planning, performance monitoring, client management, operational excellence, and strict compliance with ISO standards and organizational objectives. 2. Key Responsibilities Drive revenue growth, market expansion, and customer acquisition across Maharashtra for residential, commercial, and industrial solar projects. Prepare and implement state-level sales and project execution strategies aligned with national business goals. Lead regional teams including sales managers, project engineers, site supervisors, and back-office support staff. Ensure timely project execution and adherence to design, safety, and quality standards. Monitor budgets, control costs, and manage state-level P&L. Establish partnerships with channel partners, EPC contractors, vendors, and government stakeholders. Resolve operational, client, or site-related escalations with speed and authority. Drive performance reviews, manpower planning, and team development activities. Ensure all field and office activities are performed in line with documented SOPs and ISO guidelines. Submit MIS reports, forecasts, risk assessments, and strategic plans to the senior management on a regular basis. 3. Required Qualifications and Skills The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or Business Administration. A Master’s degree (MBA or M.Tech) will be an added advantage. A minimum of 8–12 years of experience in solar energy, infrastructure, or power industry is preferred, with at least 3 years in a leadership or state head capacity. The role demands strong commercial acumen, people leadership, knowledge of government regulations, and technical understanding of solar EPC projects. 4. Competencies Leadership and strategic planning abilities Strong sales orientation and market intelligence Deep understanding of solar project lifecycle (pre-sales to handover) Financial literacy and cost control skills Effective client relationship and stakeholder management Team mentoring, conflict resolution, and cross-functional collaboration Fluency in English, Hindi, and Marathi preferred 5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Achievement of state-level revenue and profitability targets Number of projects executed on time and within budget Channel partner performance and market penetration Customer satisfaction and repeat business rate Team productivity and retention metrics Compliance with ISO procedures, safety, and documentation standards 6. Authority The State Head is authorized to make decisions regarding client proposals, project planning, resource deployment, vendor negotiation, and financial approvals within pre-defined limits. The role also holds authority for hiring, team restructuring, and initiating disciplinary measures within the assigned region, subject to HR policies. 7. Responsibility The State Head is responsible for overseeing all operations within the Maharashtra state—ensuring delivery of business targets, operational efficiency, quality assurance, and compliance with legal, financial, and statutory obligations. 8. Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) The State Head must ensure the implementation of HSE policies across all project sites and offices in Maharashtra. This includes regular safety audits, training programs, PPE compliance, and accident reporting in accordance with ISO 45001 and internal safety norms. 9. Training and Development The individual is required to participate in leadership development programs, policy updates, technical workshops, and ISO audits. The State Head is also responsible for developing training calendars for state teams and ensuring employee skill enhancement.
