As a Research Analyst (Private Credit/Private Equity) at our client's leading fintech company in Mumbai, your primary responsibility will be to build, maintain, and enhance financial models for private credit and private equity clients. This involves ensuring accuracy and relevance in the models, conducting detailed credit analysis of portfolio companies, and performing cash flow modelling, sensitivity analysis, and scenario planning to evaluate investment risks and returns. You will support due diligence processes by analysing financial statements, industry trends, and macroeconomic factors, as well as assist in investment monitoring, including covenant compliance, periodic reporting, and risk assessment. Additionally, you will be preparing valuation reports using various methodologies such as DCF, precedent transactions, and comparable company analysis, and communicating financial insights to clients through presentations and written reports. To excel in this role, you should have 3-5 years of experience in credit analysis, financial modelling, or investment analysis, preferably in private credit or private equity. Strong proficiency in Excel-based financial modelling, including LBO, DCF, and debt structuring is essential, along with a solid understanding of financial statements, corporate finance principles, and credit risk assessment. Experience in working with private credit transactions, leveraged finance, or direct lending is preferred, as well as knowledge of industry-specific risks, macroeconomic factors, and their impact on credit markets. The ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, client-driven environment and excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex financial insights clearly are also key requirements. A CFA/MBA in Finance with a focus on Private Credit/Credit Research is a plus, and experience with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or similar financial data platforms is desirable for this role.
