Staff Systems Engineer, DA HPC

As a part of Micron Technology, you will play a crucial role in transforming how the world utilizes information to enrich life for all. Your responsibilities will include: - Providing day-to-day technology directions in the area of Storage and Linux environment - Maintaining global collaboration with other worldwide HPC team members - Offering day-to-day operational support - Managing incidents and problems - Executing projects - Encouraging innovation Specific responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): - Daily monitoring and sanity checking of storage infrastructure - Tuning performance and ensuring high availability of storage nodes - Carrying out daily storage management tasks and assisting with engineering team requests - Building, setting up, and deploying new storage devices periodically - Designing and developing storage infrastructure monitoring tools - Responding to performance issues identified by alerting and other reporting incidents - Evaluating and implementing new storage technologies - Collaborating closely with colleagues specializing in Linux, LSF, and other high-performance computing technologies - Recommending and working on system or architectural changes to improve performance, high availability, scalability, or propose innovative technologies - Ensuring architectural consistency and providing technical direction through the roadmap process and knowledge management - Creating necessary documentation for any changes in the environment or innovative technology deployments as reference architecture Qualifications and Experience: - Proven experience in handling enterprise-grade NetApp and Isilon storage clusters - Strong knowledge of storage technologies, concepts, and architecture - Knowledge of storage hardware architectures - Experience working in a distributed file systems environment - Proficiency in performance analysis and problem-solving - Experience with data storage applications and cloud-based file systems - Expertise in backup and data recovery strategies - Strong Linux administration skills - Familiarity with VMWare technologies and job management platforms - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment - Up-to-date knowledge of new technologies - Background in the semiconductor industry and HPC environment is an asset Education: - B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical fields, or equivalent work experience Micron Technology, Inc. is an industry leader in innovative memory and storage solutions that are fundamental in driving advances in artificial intelligence and 5G applications.
