Staff Software Engineer

Job Description

Manage complete software development process from conception to deployment. Demonstrate capabilities to architect new software or re-design the existing one. Architect Digital Platform and Infrastructure projects so that it can be consumed by scanners in Ports and Borders products. Work closely with internal and external stakeholder across geographies to design/implement software for High Energy HCV product lines in Smiths Detection. Duties Responsibilities Work on defining and architecting applications for HCV Scanners. Implement and support team in software development process. Deployment of the software at site and fix any problem observed at site. Maintain and upgrade the software following deployment Participate in design and creating scalable software Develop tools to test software/hardware components. Qualifications Must possess at least a Bachelor s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering and/or Computer Engineering/Science or equivalent Minimum 10+ years of experience MUST be proficient in Java, C++, Python and Linux MUST have sound knowledge of OOPS concepts, design patterns, software and systems architecture MUST have experience on Automated installation of RHEL/CentOS/Rocky Linux based operating system Experience with rpm and ISO images is a MUST Knowledge of Agile Methodologies and Pair Programming is preferred Ability to work with multiple teams and projects at any given time Ability to quickly learn complex software, system and technology
