Staff Software Engineer- Java Full stack

As a Staff Software Engineer at Visa, you will be a part of the Visa Risk Manager team focusing on creating new capabilities for the Risk Platform. Your main responsibilities will include troubleshooting, problem-solving, designing, building, and maintaining solutions for clients. You will need deep knowledge of computer science fundamentals, mobile & web technologies, multi-tiered architecture, and experience in tools development. In addition to technical skills, you should be a self-starter with excellent communication skills to collaborate with external teams and stakeholders. Mentoring junior software engineers and out-of-the-box thinking will be key aspects of your role. Key Responsibilities: - Troubleshoot and problem-solve technical issues - Design, build, and maintain solutions for clients - Mentor and coach junior software engineers - Collaborate with external teams and stakeholders - Apply programming techniques to develop new capabilities for the Risk Platform Qualifications Required: - 6 years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or an Advanced Degree - Experience with Java, REST APIs, JSON, and Angular - Exposure to container-based technologies - Understanding and hands-on experience with microservices - Experience in developing large-scale distributed systems with high availability and low latency - Familiarity with web service standards and patterns such as REST and gRPC Additional Details: This is a hybrid position, allowing you to work from both home and the office. You are expected to work from the office three days a week, including designated in-office collaboration days on Wednesdays. The third office day will be determined based on team needs and in partnership with senior leadership.
