Staff Software Engineer (Back End)

As a Staff Software Engineer Back End at Avensys, you will play a crucial role in leading the development of features, experiments, technical projects, and complex systems. You will serve as a technical architect, mentor, and driver towards the right technology, contributing significantly to our agile and scrum practices. Additionally, you will collaborate with server, other client, and infrastructure technical team members to build the best solution, constantly seeking ways to enhance our products, code-base, and development practices. Your responsibilities will include driving technical decisions within the organization. To succeed in this role, you should have: - 7+ years of experience in developing performance-critical applications using Scala, Java, or C# - Experience in leading projects, initiatives, and/or teams with full ownership of the systems involved - Familiarity with data platforms like SQL, Cassandra, or Hadoop and a good understanding of algorithms and data structures - Strong coding ability and a passion for software development - Excellent verbal and written English communication skills It would be great if you also have experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies, building large-scale distributed products, and working with core engineering infrastructure tools like Git, TeamCity, and Puppet. Hands-on experience with technologies like Kafka, RabbitMQ, Spark, Hadoop, Cassandra, MongoDB, Play framework, and Akka library is a plus.
