Staff Performance Testing Engineer

As a Performance Testing Lead at ChargePoint, your role involves leading end-to-end performance testing efforts for complex applications and systems. You will be responsible for designing robust performance test strategies, analyzing test results, identifying performance bottlenecks, establishing performance baselines, mentoring team members, automating performance testing pipelines, staying updated with emerging tools and trends, and building KPI dashboards. Key Responsibilities: - Designing robust performance test strategies including load, stress, longevity, spike, and scalability testing - Developing and maintaining performance test scripts using tools like Locust, JMeter, or LoadRunner - Analyzing test results, generating detailed performance reports, and communicating findings to stakeholders - Identifying and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks in collaboration with Developer and DevOps teams - Establishing performance baselines and SLAs for critical applications - Mentoring and guiding team members on performance testing practices and leading knowledge-sharing initiatives - Automating performance testing pipelines and integrating with CI/CD workflows - Staying current with emerging performance testing tools and trends - Building KPI dashboard - Mentoring and guiding other team members on performance testing practices and leading knowledge-building efforts within the team Qualifications Required: - 7+ years of experience in software performance testing - Strong expertise in Locust, JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar tools - Solid understanding of web technologies (HTTP/S, REST APIs, WebSockets) - Proficient in Python or Java for scripting/custom logic, with a preference for Python - Experience with APM tools (e.g., Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic) - In-depth knowledge of system architecture, caching, load balancing, and tuning - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo) - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) - Strong communication and leadership abilities with solid verbal and written skills,
