1. Job Summary

The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients, ensuring safety, comfort, and effective treatment as per hospital protocols.

2. Key Responsibilities

Patient Care

• Provide direct patient care as per nursing standards and physician orders.
  
• Monitor vital signs, symptoms, and patient progress regularly.
  
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and injections safely.
  
• Assist in procedures, dressings, catheterization, and other nursing interventions.
  
• Maintain hygiene, comfort, and mobility support for patients.
  

Clinical Duties

• Prepare and maintain patient records, charts, and nursing notes.
  
• Perform patient assessment and update care plans.
  
• Assist physicians during rounds and procedures.
  
• Handle emergency situations and provide first aid when required.
  
• Ensure safe use of medical equipment.
  

Safety & Infection Control

• Follow infection control protocols strictly.
  
• Maintain cleanliness of the ward and patient environment.
  
• Ensure proper waste segregation and disposal.
  

Communication & Coordination

• Communicate patient condition and updates to doctors and supervisors.
  
• Provide health education to patients & relatives.
  
• Coordinate with lab, pharmacy, and other departments for patient care.
  

Administrative Duties

• Follow duty schedules, handover reports, and shift protocols.
  
• Check stocks of medicines, consumables, and equipment.
  
• Report incidents and equipment malfunctions immediately.
  

3. Qualifications

• GNM / B.Sc Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc Nursing
  
• Valid nursing council registration
  
• Freshers or experienced candidates (as per hospital requirement)
