Roles and Responsibilities of a Staff Nurse1. Patient Care

• Assess patients’ physical and emotional needs
• Monitor vital signs and observe changes in condition
• Provide basic nursing care (hygiene, comfort, mobility support)
• Assist patients with daily activities

2. Medication Administration

• Administer medications safely and on time
• Check correct dose, route, and patient identity
• Observe and report side effects or reactions

3. Care Planning

• Participate in developing and updating nursing care plans
• Carry out doctor’s orders and nursing interventions
• Evaluate patient responses to treatment

4. Documentation

• Maintain accurate patient records
• Record assessments, treatments, and patient progress
• Ensure confidentiality of patient information

5. Communication

• Communicate clearly with doctors, senior nurses, and other staff
• Educate patients and families about care, medications, and recovery
• Report changes in patient condition promptly

6. Infection Control & Safety

• Follow infection prevention and control procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe environment
• Ensure patient safety and prevent injuries

7. Patient Advocacy

• Support patients’ rights and dignity
• Provide emotional support and reassurance
• Act in the best interest of the patient

8. Teamwork

• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team
• Assist junior staff or nursing students when needed
• Participate in ward activities and handovers

9. Professional Development

• Follow hospital policies and nursing ethics
• Attend training and continue learning
• Maintain professional behavior at all times

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
