Job Description

Role Overview: You will be joining as a Technical Lead for the Financial Engineering - Business Insights team at Stripe. This team plays a crucial role in understanding and driving efficient actions based on Stripe's financial data. As a Technical Lead, you will lead a team of engineers, collaborate with multiple engineering orgs, and solve large-scale data landscape problems. You will work closely with technical leaders to ensure that the software meets the needs of Stripe and its customers. The team's products, including the Financial Data Warehouse (FDW) and insights application, enable various critical business functions such as financial planning, performance analysis, and operational automation. Key Responsibilities: - Manage the technical leadership, execution, and roadmap for the Business Insights team - Collaborate cross-functionally with business leaders and partner engineering teams - Define product strategy and user experience in collaboration with engineering, product, and business leadership - Establish best practices, frameworks, and processes to enhance team effectiveness - Foster a culture of learning and data-driven decision making within the team and the broader organization - Mentor and support the growth of engineers at different career levels Qualifications Required: - 10+ years of hands-on experience in building large-scale, distributed systems - Proven track record in building complex distributed systems, identifying optimization opportunities, and making data-driven design decisions - Experience in developing infrastructure and tools to empower developers and product teams - Strong leadership skills to create technical teams focused on operational excellence and user needs - Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders - Ability to transition between high-level discussions and detailed coding - High standards for working with production systems and adapting to fast-paced environments - Curiosity to learn deeply about the domain and willingness to give and receive constructive feedback - Preferred qualifications include experience in high-growth teams, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people Additional Company Details: Stripes in most locations are expected to spend a significant portion of their time in the office or with users, with variations based on role, team, and location.
