To be eligible for this position, you should have at least 4 years of experience in the field. A minimum qualification of a Bachelor's degree in Design/Technology or an equivalent field is required. The ideal candidate should be proficient in various tools including Figma, Photoshop, Prototyping Tools (e.g., InVision, Marvel, ProtoPie), and Collaboration Tools (e.g., Zeplin, Abstract, Miro). Additionally, having a basic understanding of HTML/CSS is essential for effective communication with developers. It would be advantageous if you have experience with Sketch or Adobe XD, as familiarity with other design tools can be a plus. Knowledge of CAD is also considered a good-to-have skill. Key skills for this role include wireframe creation, UI design, UX research, usability testing, design system creation, interaction design, responsive and adaptive design, accessibility (a11y), and a continuous learning mindset. You should be able to create aesthetically pleasing designs with a strong focus on user experience, typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy. Conducting user research, interviews, surveys, and usability testing are integral parts of this role. Additionally, you should be capable of designing interfaces for various devices and screen sizes, following mobile-first and responsive design principles. Designing with accessibility in mind and ensuring usability for people with disabilities, in line with WCAG guidelines, is a crucial aspect of this position. A passion for staying up-to-date with design trends, tools, and best practices, as well as an eagerness to expand skills through learning new tools or diving deeper into UX research, are highly valued. A well-curated portfolio that showcases a range of projects, including the design process, decision-making, and final outcomes, is required to demonstrate your expertise in the field.
