Sr. System Engineer

As a Sr. System Engineer in our IT Support department, your role will involve maintaining, upgrading, and managing our software, hardware, and networks. Your resourcefulness will be key in diagnosing and resolving problems efficiently. Communication with interdisciplinary teams and users is essential to ensure smooth and efficient technology infrastructure operation. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide technical support for hardware and software issues encountered by users - Manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems - Monitor the system daily and promptly address security or usability concerns - Create and verify backups of data - Respond to and resolve help desk requests - Upgrade systems and processes for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution - Administer infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software, and other processes - Review application logs - Install and test computer-related equipment - Manage network servers and technology tools - Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls **Qualifications Required:** - 4+ years of experience in system administration - Associate or higher degree in a related field - Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management - Extensive experience with VMware - Advanced knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues - Basic understanding of insurance goals and practices In addition to the above responsibilities and qualifications, you should be able to respond to help desk requests after hours on a limited basis.
