Sr. Software Engineer-Alts & Data Management

As a Senior Software Engineer at Addepar, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions that support clients" alternative investment strategies. By leveraging AI and Machine Learning technologies, you will be at the forefront of revolutionizing how alternative investments are managed and analyzed. Your role will involve designing, implementing, and delivering ground-breaking software solutions that automate and streamline the ingestion and analysis of alternative investment data. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists and product managers, you will be responsible for building intuitive solutions that transform clients" experience of AI and ML in the application, ultimately enhancing their experience of alternatives operations. You will work on document-based workflow automation and collaborate with peer engineering teams to define the tech stack, ensuring the scalability and efficiency of the solutions. In this role, you will design, build, and iterate on web-based applications for alternatives data professionals. You will develop responsive UIs that enable PDF annotations, tagging, and navigation, while maintaining engineering solutions through well-designed, testable code. Leading individual project priorities, achievements, and software releases will be part of your responsibilities, alongside collaborating with machine learning engineers to integrate ML models into the backend stack of the application. To excel in this position, you should have a minimum of 8+ years of experience in software engineering and be proficient in Python or Java. Experience with streaming data platforms and event-driven architecture is essential, as well as the ability to process, aggregate, and compute on large amounts of data efficiently. Ideally, you will have a background in AI/ML and strong backend engineering skills. Your ownership mentality, collaborative nature, and problem-solving abilities will be key to your success in this role. Moreover, you should be comfortable engaging with collaborators at all levels on a technical basis and have experience in building cloud-native applications. Knowledge of at least one public cloud technology such as AWS/GCP/Azure is preferred, with AWS experience considered a strong plus. Front-end development skills are also advantageous. This role requires working from the Pune office three days a week under a hybrid work model.
