Sr. Manager Design & Development

• Qualification:

  B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical or Production Engineering

• Experience:

  15 to 20 years of experience in product design & development

• (experience in manufacturing of luggage industry / automobiles / consumer durable production unit or in similar industry)

• The role would be responsible for managing entire new product design and development and experience in handling team of more than 6 people.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

• Oversee and drive all active product development projects
• Should be adept in 3-D modelling and surfacing. Hands-on experience on Creo/NX.
• Manage day-to-day development activities, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure timely progress on assigned projects.
• Review and guide 3D/2D designs, tooling requirements, and material selection based on application needs and cost targets.
• Ensure adherence to internal NPD processes, PLM system, and documentation protocols.
• Collaborate with marketing, SCM, quality, and manufacturing teams to align the PLM projects.
• Monitor design validation, prototyping, and tooling development stages.
• Lead DFM, DFA, and VA/VE initiatives to optimize design performance and cost.

Skills & Attributes

• Structural Analysis & Design (using software like NX/CREO/CATIA)
• Material Expertise: PP, PC, ABS, Aluminium Tubes, Nylon, Polyester, and Composite Plastics
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Mold Flow etc.
• Design Optimization & Value Engineering
• Knowledge of Gate Locations & Flow Behaviour in Mold Design
• Knowledge of Manufacturing & Fabrication Constraints.
