Sr. Java Developer- Netconf/GNMI/Yang/NMS

Role Overview: As a Java Developer at Ciena, you will be part of a high-performing Agile scrum team working on advancing Ciena's multi-vendor domain controller solution, Navigator NCS. This solution helps automate the lifecycle operations of packet and optical networks, supporting a shift towards scalable, open software platforms. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate within Agile teams to design and implement features for the management and control of Packet Optical Devices, including third-party products. - Work closely with Product Owners and Architects to understand requirements related to IP/MPLS technologies, including Segment Routing, OSPF, BGP, and VPNs. - Develop solutions based on YANG models and Netconf/gNMI protocols to enable integration with external router platforms. - Contribute to the design, development, and testing of microservices within the Navigator software architecture. - Support the release/design lead to ensure high-quality delivery of features and software updates. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field. - Minimum 5 years of experience as a Java developer. - Strong expertise in advanced Java, multithreading, and data structures. - Practical knowledge of Netconf/gNMI protocols and YANG models. - Hands-on experience working with microservice architecture and RESTful APIs. - Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Self-starter who can work independently and meet tight deadlines.
