Sr Engineer - Electronics Materials and Manufacturing

As a Senior Engineer - Electronic Materials & Mfg at Luminar Technologies, you will be instrumental in the development of high-quality automotive hardware products for autonomous mobility and ADAS markets. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, identifying materials and processes for automotive electronics, conducting experiments with contract manufacturers, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards. **Key Responsibilities:** - Support Design Engineers in the identification and qualification of materials and processes for automotive electronics. - Lead Design of Experiments with Contract Manufacturers to develop and qualify material sets and processes. - Conduct regular audits of key suppliers to assist procurement and supplier quality teams. - Ensure materials meet necessary environmental and safety standards such as RoHS, REACH, UL, CE, CSA, Conflict Minerals. - Lead internal and external Failure Analysis of electronic assemblies, including destructive physical analysis. - Act as the focal point for Contract Manufacturing for all material and process-related matters. **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. - Minimum of 7 years of experience in Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) processes and materials. - Experience collaborating with contract manufacturers on Printed Circuit Assemblies. - Knowledge of inspection methods and destructive physical analysis techniques for electronic assemblies. - Familiarity with automotive component suppliers, AEC qualifications, and automotive PPAP. - Technical understanding of automotive qualification testing and reliability factors of automotive electronics.
