Job Description

As a Senior Engineering Manager in the Spectrum Design System team at Adobe, you will lead a framework team focused on building Android and web component libraries for the design system. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with the Spectrum design team, partnering with product engineering, creating a contribution model for libraries, integrating work with supporting systems, influencing technical direction, and mentoring team members. Additionally, you will be responsible for hiring, training, and providing support for career development within the team. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with the Spectrum design team to ensure Spectrum's aesthetic and API fits well into an Android context - Partner with product engineering to define, build, and validate the implementation of Spectrum in Adobe's Android and web products - Create a strong contribution model for libraries and frameworks to facilitate product teams" contributions - Integrate team's work with supporting systems, infrastructure, and services - Influence and mentor technical direction and quality standards - Collaborate effectively with Spectrum and product leadership to prioritize work and set delivery timelines - Understand design requirements and communicate engineering concerns back to design - Assist team members in identifying and progressing toward career development goals - Manage hiring and training processes as the team grows Qualifications Required: Must-Haves: - 5+ years of experience as an engineering leader - Experience working with enterprise software and product teams - Strong understanding of Android platform, including Android Studio, Kotlin, and Java - Technical experience with building web applications - Solid understanding of UI accessibility practices - Proven success in leading and mentoring teams Nice-to-Haves: - Prior experience with shared components and UI frameworks - Experience with common build and deploy strategies for Android projects - Familiarity with web standards-based development like Web Components - Comfortable directing improvements to app architecture and testing processes - Practice with open development and collaborative code reviews Join Adobe's exceptional work environment and contribute to impactful projects that drive innovation and growth.
