Sr. Design Engineer - Wood Industry

As a Senior Design Engineer at the Wood Factory in Bangalore-Yelahanka, your role will involve leading the design and development of wood-based products such as furniture, joinery, and fixtures. You will be responsible for creating detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD and 3D models using SolidWorks, ensuring that designs are production-ready. Collaboration with production, procurement, and quality teams will be essential to ensure practical, cost-effective designs that meet quality standards. Additionally, you will review and approve the work of junior engineers, conduct feasibility studies, and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the design process for wood-based products from concept to production. - Develop accurate 2D drawings (AutoCAD) and 3D models (SolidWorks) for manufacturing. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure practical and cost-effective designs. - Optimize designs for material efficiency, manufacturability, and durability. - Review and approve junior engineers" work, providing guidance and technical support. - Conduct design feasibility studies, stress/load analysis, and prototyping. - Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company design guidelines. - Maintain organized design documentation, BOMs, and technical specifications. - Support continuous improvement in design processes, tools, and standards. Qualifications & Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field. - Minimum 5-7 years of experience in furniture/wood product design or related manufacturing industry. - Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks. - Strong knowledge of woodworking materials and production processes. - Excellent problem-solving, creativity, and technical drawing skills. - Ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members. - Strong communication and teamwork skills. - Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and manufacturability.
