Sr. Design Engineer-wood industry

As a Senior Design Engineer at the Wood Factory in BANGALORE-YELAHANKA, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of wood-based products such as furniture, joinery, and fixtures. Your expertise in woodworking and furniture manufacturing will be essential in creating detailed 2D and 3D designs that are production-ready. Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks is a must for this role. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the design process for wood-based products from concept to production. - Develop accurate 2D drawings using AutoCAD and 3D models with SolidWorks for manufacturing. - Collaborate with production, procurement, and quality teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and meet quality standards. - Optimize designs for material efficiency, manufacturability, and durability. - Review and approve junior engineers and draftsmen's work, providing guidance and technical support. - Conduct design feasibility studies, stress/load analysis, and prototyping. - Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company design guidelines. - Maintain organized design documentation, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical specifications. - Support continuous improvement in design processes, tools, and standards. Qualifications & Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field. - Minimum 5-7 years of experience in furniture/wood product design or related manufacturing industry. - Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks. - Strong knowledge of woodworking materials and production processes. - Excellent problem-solving, creativity, and technical drawing skills. - Ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members. - Strong communication and teamwork skills. - Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and manufacturability.
